Welcome to Year 6! We look forward to teaching your child and helping them to make the most of the skills and talents they have. We have great pleasure in introducing the Year 6 team for 2025/26 to you.

There are two classes in Year 6 in our school: Class 6SA (taught by Mrs. Anderson) and Class 6MH (taught by Mr. Hiley). We are both experienced Year 6 teachers and are responsible for planning and overseeing all of your child’s learning experiences this year. We are the ‘go to’ people if you have any questions or if any issues arise.

Our two classes are supported by various other members of our Support Staff and Lunchtime Staff teams :

-Mrs. Fletcher (LSA);
-Miss Barnes (LSA);
-Mrs. Busby (Principal Lunchtime Supervisor);
-Mrs. Bletch (Lunchtime Supervisor).

We hope that your child will make the most of all the opportunities and expertise that come their way during the year. It is hard work, but very much worth the effort, as we prepare them for their onward journey to secondary school. 

The key timetable times that you will need to know about are :

PE for 6SA is on Monday and Friday.

PE for 6MH is on Tuesday and Friday.

The weekly spelling test for 6SA is on Thursday.

The weekly spelling test for 6MH is on Friday.

Our Class Reader for this term is 'Letters from the Lighthouse' by Emma Carroll. 

It tells the story of a young girl's search for her missing sister during World War II.

There are many unexpected twists and turns along the way.

Prepare yourself to be surprised!
