   For the Spring term, Year 3 are reading Coming to England by Floella Benjamin.

   We encourage children to read other books written by Floella Benjamin. 

   Some of our English lessons will be based on looking at extracts from Coming to England and the Literacy Shed video Taking Flight.

PE Days

3SW - Monday and Tuesday

3PL - Thursday and Friday 

All children are expected to wear the correct PE kit: a plain white T-shirt and plain black shorts or leggings. On PE days, children should also wear their school jumper.

Thank you in advance for your support in ensuring that your child comes to school in the correct kit.

Homework

We do expect all of the pupils to complete homework set by school. As part of your child’s weekly homework we ask that you:

• Reading with your child – This is a vital part of their reading development. Take time to discuss the text and ask questions to support their understanding. All reading must be recorded in your child’s reading record.
• Spellings – Children will be given spellings every Friday and will be tested the following Friday. 
• Homework Menu – Your child will have a “menu” style homework sheet stuck into their homework book. Please choose one task to complete weekly.
• TT Rockstars - Children should practise and develop their times table skills every day.
