PSHE

Parent Consultation:

The Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education, and Health Education Regulations (England, 2019) have made Relationships Education compulsory in all primary schools. At Hamstead Primary School we believe that working in partnership with parents and carers is a crucial step in effectively meeting individual pupil needs and continuing to develop a curriculum offer that can help each pupil reach their potential.

Please read through the documents below and answer our parental survey.

Extra Information

What's happening in PSHE?

At HPS we aim to teach the pupils a range of strategies to help them different with the range of feelings, emotions and behaviours they will face now and in the future.

As a school, we follow the KAPOW scheme of work. Pupils learn about how to grow as individuals through the following topics:

EYFS - My Feelings; Special Relationships; Taking on Challenges; Listening and following instructions, My Family and Friends and My Wellbeing.

Key Stage 1 and 2 - Families and Relationships; Health and Wellbeing; Safety and the Changing Body; Citizenship; Economic Wellbeing and Transition.

Children will also focus on careers as a topic and learn about a broad range of careers throughout their time at Hamstead Primary.

Through these topics, children are encouraged to reflect, discuss and explore different aspects which we hope will develop them as individuals.

WALL OF FAME

Every week, a pupil from each class receives one of our HPS Value Certificates during our Congratulations Assembly. These reward pupils who display our school values of Honesty, Perseverance and Success! The children have their name added to our Wall of Fame in the school halls.
